A Bit About Me
A bit about me, Katie Handyside
I have trained all over the world, London, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seattle and now Mallorca. I have had my Personal Training Company: Katie Handyside Personal Training and Nutrition - since 2005.
For the first 5 years I started off with a training studio in STP super yacht refit yard in Palma and trained thousands of yacht crew in my group classes, bootcamps and personal training programs. I am now a mobile personal trainer - many of my clients are in Son Vida, Sol de Mallorca, Portals, Andratx and Portixol. We exercise outdoors, train on the beach, in their villas and luxury hotels.
I am a keen athlete myself and have done everything from 5 half 'Ironmans', numerous Olympic triathlons, sprint triathlons, duathlons, bike races and rallies, half marathons, 10 and 5 km runs, Spartan obstacle racing, army training selection, jungle trekking in Belize, canoeing, swim racing - anything and everything I can get involved in in my free time, I’m there. My work is my passion and I love to work out! In the gym, in the mountains, at the beach... I love adventures and new challenges and being in nature- Mallorca its a beautiful training ground- a sports mecca from road biking to canoeing.
Like most of us, a few curve balls have been thrown my way, and exercise has given me the power to overcome the struggles I have faced.
My Qualifications and Achievements
A fully qualified Personal Trainer A.C.E (American Council Exercise), DNA genetic testing practitioner, Spinning Instructor, Master of Nutrition (Cory Holly Institute Vancouver), Certified Sports Nutritional Advisor and Metabolic Balance Coach © (London). I am also fully qualified in many other pursuits such as First Aid, Kettle Bells and Olympic Weight Lifting.
A journalist for The Daily Bulletin Newspaper, Nourish and Thrive, The islander and previously The Island Buzz, STP magazine and Celebrity magazine here in Palma de Mallorca.
