HOW DO I START TO EXERCISE?

Starting to exercise can be really daunting.
The older you get the harder it is and the easier it is to make excuses to prevent yourself from starting.
We are living beyond the years we were designed to live through medicines like antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals , food is available 24-7 and we know so much more today than ever in history- but are we actually applying that knowledge ? Or is it just a minefield out there - you do not know who to believe and where to start?
Yes we are living longer - but not necessarily healthier!
Personally I do not want to get #osteoporosis, #dementia, have a #heart-attack or #stroke, #fall or anything else that might be preventable.
With the right #exercise plan and #nutritional- accountability you are at least maturing with as much physical advantage as possible!
You may never know you have Osteoporosis , #high blood pressure or be susceptible to a heart attack until it happens… so why not take preventative measure now to make your chances of living out your last years as happy as possible.
Still able to do all the things you love - what ever they maybe: gardening, dancing, travelling, walking, being independent and living rather than simply existing.
Interested in finding out about my #training? How does it work?
Usually I like to meet for a consultation.
This gives you the chance to chat to me in person and see if you would like to work with me.
If you simply want advice and a take home #programme on Nutrition and Exercise and this is all you need, thats great.
Otherwise I have several packages for you (regardless of your age and fitness capabilities, or lack of.)
Every programme starts with an initial #Fitness-Assessment ( you DO NOT have to be fit to do this - in fact many people have never exercised before, feel very self conscious and maybe carrying a lot of #excess body-weight) It is absolutely fine- thats why we are here!
This assessment forms a baseline so that moving forwards you will be able to reflect on your progress. How can you monitor progress if you do not test or know where you are starting from?
It will also highlight your strengths and weaknesses and will illustrate exactly why you need to #start-exercising .
This combined with your #goals and other programming essentials will form the basis of how I plan your workouts.
Moving forwards we can either meet in person - anywhere -I love to #train-outside and I think it is very good for you to be in nature , however some people prefer to #work-out-at-home or in a gym- both are options.
Alternatively we can #work-out-online or if you feel comfortable you can workout alone and simply book in either in-person sessions or have an ongoing online #accountability.
Regardless of your #fitness-level and age- even if you are starting from zero - it is fine- I love helping you, it makes me feel good and if I can help you , help your friends, your family your colleagues or local club then please let me in ?
My parents are aging and I wish I could help them more !
I see people everyday that I know I could make a difference to!
With over 20 years of training every individual ,age group and personality - I have perfected my technique and acquired so much experience- so I can defiantly help you too!
Every day someone falls due to poor #muscle-mass and #strength, #loss-of-balance and #co-ordination, limited reflexes and lack of fitness all of these can be corrected and improved with a good all round fitness programme.
Ts never too late to start but do not leave it any longer. Seek help today- if not with me then with another trained practitioner .
At least 1 in 4 people over the age of 65 fall every year. This changes lives - inactive people lose muscle and strength and most people never recover- within the year 1/3 of these people who fall are dead.

“Katie is full of encouragement and makes me believe in myself”
“I never thought I could work out with Katie - but now I look back and I am so glad I started ”
“ I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis so I asked Katie for help, now I feel so much stronger and happier and I can climb the stairs without getting out of breath “
